June 2007
Construction work continues at the Jehovah Jireh Good Shepherd School.
All work is being done by volunteers, using the materials purchased and left by
the three teams in May. Here are the highlights of the progress:
| 1. 2nd story back wall The 2nd
story back wall has been completed, including bond beams and placement
of the major I-beam over the columns. The area around the
foundation has been back filled and the construction fence has been
removed allowing the children more space. Still pending is the
stairwell, that will be located in the right corner of the photo. |
 |
| 2. 1st story curved wall The
curved wall has nearly been finished. This wall marks the entrance
to the school offices. Still pending is the bond beam. Other
major work pending on the first floor includes: floors, stucco/painting,
electrical, lights, drop ceiling. The library, located by office
area on the left side of the photo, is also unfinished. |
 |
| 3. Sealant and back fill of retaining
walls Two of the three retaining walls have had sealant applied
and have been back filled. The photo to the right is the side
between the new building and the apartment building. This will
eventually have the walkway and stairs that will connect the existing
school with the administration and library area. |
 |
| 4. First fruits of the new library
School Director Ariela is pictured with our daughter, Stephanie McNamar.
Stephanie's school chose the Jireh school for their charity project for
2007, raising funds and collecting more than 200 Spanish and English
books for the new library. Now all we need to do is finish the
library!

Please pray with us that funds will be given and additional building teams
will come to finish construction of the new Jireh School by February 2008.
